Code For Nepal knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Back in 2000, our Non-Profit Organization realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Code For Nepal.
Digital Literacy
Digital Literacy is the knowledge that improves a person's engagement with a digital environment. Code for Nepal's main goal is to help improve the digital literacy of the people in Nepal. Becoming more digitally literate will help improve the lives of the Nepali, from using programs such as Zoom to easily communicate with people to using products such as Microsoft Word to easily create documents. The Importance of Digital Literacy
If the Nepali people and government are convinced how important important digital literacy is, the people will make more of an effort to learn the skills to enhance digital literacy, and the government will put more of a focus on people learning these skills in school.
Providing the Products
In order to teach digital literacy in schools, students need the tools to help them learn these skills. This mainly includes having computers more present in schools, but also includes purchasing certain important software for the computers that are important for modern digital literacy, such as the Microsoft products.
Teaching Digital Literacy
Of course, there also has to be some way to teach people these new skills that will help improve their digital literacy. That is the purpose of this website, to compile a variety of different guides that will assist people in learning digital literacy skills. These guide are mainly aimed at teachers, with the goal that they will then teach these skills to their students.
